Some people grow out of their epilepsy and can slowly come off their anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) when they’ve been seizure free for a few years. Other people stop having seizures, but have to keep taking their AEDs to make sure the seizures don’t come back. And some people keep having seizures even though they take AEDs. Unfortunately, there’s no way I can tell you if you’ll grow out of your epilepsy. The best people to ask are your epilepsy specialist or epilepsy specialist nurse.
